Krystal was found wandering along a highway, emaciated, thirsty, hungry, with over 60% of her body covered with open lesions. Diagnosed with an uncommon but potentially lethal and incurable form Demodex. When we heard tha animal control was going to euthanize her because of this inherinted disease, we signed a waiver and obtained her adoption. Following two weeks oin the ICU of a veterianary clinic and months of treatment at home, she was in remission! Krystal is now one of our elder residents at 11 years old. Unfortunately she has recently begun to develop arthritis and tore a ligament in one of her rear legs. You wouldn't know it by her attitude though. She still wants to go on her daily walk, she is just a little slower and can't go quite as ar as she once did.. Daily medication, massages and lots of loving care keep our girl happy..
Mugzy is a cancer survivor (treated with radiation) and has congestive heart disease. He requires medication twice daily (approx. $8 a day) but lives a low-key and contented life. (Unless dinner is late, he can be very vocal!)
Leo is an FIV positive longhaired ginger Maine coon. He is the largest cat in our care and is also the biggest scaredy cat of his house. Sweet tempered Leo is a giant loving furball.
Returned from another family, placed in a couple of different shelters, Tasha was rescued at 5 months old. A Husky breed, she is thin but healthy and VERY active, more so than any other animal we have encountered before. Much training work is ahead for this loving, but destructive girl.
When first seen Wycliff was laying on his side in the middle of a busy sidewalk. He was sleeping or unconscious to the point we couldn't see him breathing. He was covered with flies and motionless. He is pure white, the dark areas in his fur are street dirt and flea droppings. He was approximately 8 months old and weighed just under 6 lbs upon arrival at hospital. He was diagnosed as emaciated and malnourished, dehydrated and positive for Corona Virus. His turn around since has been amazing,
